Giovanni BROUSSARD

Biographie

Based in Nairobi (Kenya), Mr. Broussard is the acting head of the UNODC Global Programme on Crimes that Affect the environment. His work focuses on building capacity to tackle transnational organized crime in the environment sectors related to wildlife, forestry, fishery, mining and waste management.

Experience

With UNODC since 2008, he spent 15 years in Southeast Asia and 3 years in Africa working on technical assistance to Member States and environmental crimes. Before joining UNODC he worked for different organizations in Afghanistan, Namibia and North Macedonia.

Education

He holds a PhD in Economics and Development studies with focus on Environment, a Master in International Relations with focus on Corruption and an undergraduate degree in Economics with focus on drug markets.
