Why attend

The IUCN World Conservation Congress (WCC) and the United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (WCCrim) both hosted by the UAE offer mobilization opportunities to enable concrete inclusion of Crimes that Affect the Environment in future WCC and WCCrim agendas and programmes.

Session Description

This high-level panel discussion followed by a Q and A session aims to start a strategic dialogue for joint and concrete steps to prepare the ground for a successful WCCrim as regards Crimes that Affect the Environment (CAE). Objectives : - Raise awareness on CAE as serious threats to nature and people; - Promote the work under the UNODC's related bodies and conventions; - Highlight countries and regions specific commitments; - Enable concrete inclusion of CAE in future agendas of WCC and WCCrim.
