The event seeks to demonstrate that restoring tropical forests is not just an environmental goal, but a long-term economic and climate strategy, in which Brazil can exercise global leadership by articulating public policies, markets, and financial innovation.
Description de la séance
Brazil has committed to restoring 12 million hectares by 2030 and has already demonstrated that large-scale tropical restoration is possible, with tangible impacts on carbon, biodiversity, and local development. For this potential to translate into a driver of regenerative development, dialogue with the private sector and alignment of different climate finance mechanisms are essential. The panel will:
• Analyze the voluntary carbon market (VCM), currently the main financing channel for nature-based removals, highlighting its progress and integrity challenges.
• Present concrete results of restoration at scale, demonstrating how the private sector is already delivering high-integrity carbon, biodiversity, and socioeconomic benefits.
• Discuss the role of the private sector, how to attract commercial capital, and the creation of new windows of scale for Brazil.
• Point out paths for a convergence between public and private capital and market instruments, strengthening the role of restoration as a solution for mitigation, adaptation, and territorial development.
