Por qué asistir

Have you heard that forest landscape restoration is not a viable cost-effective solution? This session will demonstrate that ecological restoration at scale is already happening and can play an important part on the fight against the biodiversity and the climate crisis.

Descripción de la sesión

This session will profile how forest landscape restoration at scale can lead to a nature-based economy that will put us on track for achieving biodiversity and climate goals. Brazil has committed to restoring 12 million hectares by 2030 and has already demonstrated that large-scale tropical restoration is possible, with tangible impacts on carbon, biodiversity, and local communities. In order to translate this potential into actions, policy coherence is needed, along with a strong dialogue with the private sector and the finance institutions. This panel will explore how Brazil became a powerhouse of ecological restoration, offering valuable insights for other governments, companies and communities that are pursuing similar pathways. Panelists will analyze financing alternatives for nature-based solutions, share concrete cases of restoration at scale, discuss the role of the private sector and point out pathways for building convergence between public and private efforts. If you believe in nature, please join us.
