Carolina SCHAFFER

Biography

Carolina Schäffer is a biologist with a master’s degree in Botany from the University of Brasília. Since 2007, she has served as Communications and Information Coordinator, Project Coordinator, and Vice President at Apremavi, driving initiatives that have resulted in the planting of more than 10.5 million trees. Her work focuses on the conservation and restoration of the Atlantic Forest, climate change mitigation, and biodiversity monitoring. She has experience in strategic communications for the nonprofit sector and community engagement. Worked previously at the Federal District Secretariat for the Environment and at the Instituto Socioambiental, and has served as a consultant to the IUCN. She is currently a councilor of the National Environment Council (CONAMA) and of the Atlantic Forest Restoration Pact, and Executive Secretary of the IUCN Brazilian Committee.
