Pourquoi participer

The current conservation paradigm is undergoing profound and necessary transformations towards rights-based approaches, but what does this mean for the roles of conservation NGOs? Join us for an open discussion. This is a 90minute event.

Description de la séance

Exclusionary, top-down conservation paradigms have been challenged and the KM-GBF adopted in 2022 puts Human Rights Based Approaches at the heart of its implementation. Many conservation NGOs are rethinking their approaches, but underlying barriers are slowing progress on the ground. The event is a collective space for learning from, and exchanging with, Indigenous Peoples, local communities, women, youth and other marginalized groups on how NGOs can better support more ethical and inclusive conservation and help overcome barriers to Indigenous and community-led conservation. This event is co-created by WWF, IIED, and other organizations to be confirmed.
