Learn how the GEF Critical Forest Biomes Integrated Program is scaling nature-positive economies across the world’s primary tropical forests. Hear concrete strategies on governance, finance, and NbS from Indigenous Peoples, women, youth, and public-private partners, with practical models you can adapt and finance.
Description de la séance
This session examines how tropical primary forests can anchor nature-positive economies through innovative policies, governance models, inclusive dialogues, and financing solutions. Drawing on the Amazon, Congo, Indo‑Malaya, Guinean forests, and Mesoamerica, speakers will highlight transformative approaches under the GEF-8 Critical Forest Biomes Integrated Program—the largest GEF Integrated Program—showcasing landscape governance, nature-based solutions, financial leverage tools, and community-led conservation. Contributions from Indigenous Peoples, women’s groups, youth networks, and public-private partnerships will illustrate regional and transboundary pathways that protect biodiversity while sustaining livelihoods. Policymakers, conservation practitioners, and financial actors will gain actionable insights and scalable models to integrate primary forests into national planning, unlock finance, and deliver measurable outcomes for people, climate, and natureOrganised by
