Biography

As an ocean scientist, I am deeply interested in the ecological connections between ocean twilight zone communities and the broader ocean ecosystem. My current research as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, uses a combination of catch and fisheries acoustics data to explore how oceanographic conditions shape the distribution and abundance of ocean twilight zone (mesopelagic) fishes within the California Current. As a delegate of the Deep Ocean Stewardship Initiative (DOSI), I look forward to bringing attention to the importance of deep sea ecosystems to the broader conservation community.
