Biography

Assistant Professor, Sustainability Leader, and Environmental Advocate

Dr. Heba Aboukhousa is an Assistant Professor at Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities in the UAE, where she leads the Sustainability Committee and founded the Environment & Sustainability Club. With a Ph.D. in Bio-Organic Chemistry and with over a decade of teaching and research experience, she integrates environmental education, sustainability leadership, and climate action into academic and community initiatives.

She has spearheaded many sustainability programs, from national clean-up campaigns and climate education workshops to university-level sustainability weeks and youth leadership projects aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Dr. Aboukhousa represents the UAE at global climate forums, including COP28 and COP29, highlighting the role of education in driving climate resilience and sustainable development.

At IUCN 2025, she will share insights on youth empowerment, environmental education, and building cross-cultural collaboration for global sustainability solutions.
