Khaled MARAFI

With over 27 years of experience in environmental management, dryland restoration, and sustainable development, I bring a unique blend of technical expertise, regional knowledge, and leadership. My career has focused on translating science into practice — designing and implementing projects that restore landscapes, improve livelihoods, and ensure long-term ecosystem resilience in fragile and arid regions. Building on this extensive experience, I am now seeking to serve as Regional Councilor forWest Asia in the upcoming IUCN Council elections. My aim is to amplify the region’s voice in global conservation efforts, foster collaboration among stakeholders, and promote inclusive, science-based solutions to our shared environmental challenges.
