Aissatou NIASSE

Biography

Ms. Mame Aissatou NIASSE was born in Dakar, Senegal.
•    Education
She attended HLM2 primary school, middle school, and high school at the Collège d'Enseignement Moyen des Filles and Lycée Technique Maurice Delafosse, respectively, where she obtained her high school diploma in accounting in 1991.
She entered the School of Water and Forestry Technicians through competitive examination and graduated in 1998 before being recruited into the civil service in 2001 at the National Parks Directorate. 
In 2005, she obtained a scholarship to study at the Garoua Wildlife School and graduated with a degree in wildlife science in 2007. 
She later enrolled in a master's program in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development in 2015 at Alioune Diop University in Bambey, where she graduated with a degree in environmental issues.

. Professional background
She worked at the National Parks Directorate from 2001 to 2012, with responsibilities in the supervision and community management of protected areas as well as ecological monitoring.
From 2012 to 2020, she was head of the monitoring and evaluation division of the Marine Protected Areas Department. 
From 2020 to 2024, she is coordinator of the protected areas management project in two biosphere reserves in Senegal, funded by the BIOPAMA Support Fund.

Since February 2025, she has been responsible for the Monitoring and Evaluation Division of the National Parks Directorate.
