Biography
Alanna Matamaru Smith holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management and a Master's in Conservation Biology. She has been with Te Ipukarea Society, an environmental NGO based in the Cook Islands, since 2015 and currently serves as its Director. Alanna’s work focuses on a range of environmental areas including waste management, biodiversity conservation, and eco-conscious development decisions. She is also deeply committed to environmental education and community engagement, particularly in raising awareness about the environmental impacts of deep sea mining across the Cook Islands.
