Ashley Lashley is a passionate advocate for climate, health, and youth empowerment. As one of the Youth Advisors to the United Nations Secrtary General on Climate Change, A former UNICEF Youth Advocate, CARICOM Youth Ambassador, and former Miss World Barbados, she has committed her life to addressing pressing global challenges. At just 16, she founded Schools Against Non-Communicable Diseases and later launched the HEY Campaign, which has mobilized over 500 climate activists globally. Over the past five years, she has grown the campaign through The Ashley Lashley Foundation into the world’s largest youth-led movement focused on climate and health. Ashley is also the visionary behind Eco Fit Youth, a Caribbean initiative that promotes the 5Rs refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, and repurpose through wellness and fitness activities for children. She leads Safe Coast Bim, a national project that equips youth with the skills and knowledge to be disaster-ready and build climate resilience in their communities. Ashley founded the SIDS Global Children and Youth Action Summit and co-organized its most recent edition during the Fourth International SIDS Conference. She also made history by launching the first-ever CARICOM Badge for Brownies and Girl Guides, a groundbreaking initiative that fosters Caribbean citizenship, cultural pride, and youth advocacy. In 2025, she became the youngest speaker to deliver the Commencement Address at St. George’s University and received the Top Minister’s Award in Barbados for her outstanding work in community development. Whether leading the Barbados Youth Climate Action Summit, supporting Small Island Developing States (SIDS), or creating safe, healthy spaces for youth, Ashley’s mission is unwavering: to prove that no obstacle is greater than the cause.
