IUCN Meeting Room 5 , Onsite

Why attend

Be among the first to experience an upcoming feature documentary on nature protection and restoration. From Open Planet Studios, the film will be a storytelling tool for global action on biodiversity restoration. Join leading voices from conservation, finance and filmmaking to explore how investment can drive systemic change for nature.

Session Description

Nature underpins all life, but this value is not currently reflected in the global economy. A major new documentary will address this gap and spotlight hopeful stories of the bioeconomy. Guests will experience a world-first 10-minute impact cut focused on the power of finance to unlock biodiversity protection at scale. After the screening, Lee Howell (Executive Director, Villars Institute), Keith Tuffley (CEO, Race to Belém), Julia Marton-Lefèvre (former Director General of IUCN) and Jonnie Hughes (Co-founder, Open Planet Studios and Exec Director) will lead a conversation on how capital can drive systemic change for nature. Designed for leaders across conservation, finance and policy, the session will explore practical pathways for aligning investment with biodiversity outcomes.
