He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Geography from Dartmouth College, a master's degree in Public Policy with a specialization in Finance from Harvard University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. He began his professional career as a Public Policy Consultant in Federal Affairs for the Government of Puerto Rico.

He founded Microjuris, an innovative online legal information service, and has been recognized for his contributions on three occasions. He continues to preside over its Board of Directors. In 2002, he was nominated to the Puerto Rico Conservation Trust (PRCT) Board of Trustees, and in 2003, he was elected to lead this prestigious nonprofit organization. From 2003 to 2013, he played a pivotal role in diversifying its programming, integrating communities, and shaping a new conservation perspective within public policy sectors.

In 2013, the Trust established Para la Naturaleza (PLN), a new entity placing people and communities at the center of ecological practices. As PLN’s president, Mr. Lloveras championed a philosophy of ethical governance and compliance, leading to the organization's accreditation by the Land Trust Alliance (LTA). From 2016 to 2020, PLN served as the President of the Caribbean Regional Council of the IUCN, and from 2020 to the present, the organization has served consecutively as Vice President.

Following the catastrophic events that impacted Puerto Rico since 2017, Mr. Lloveras and the PLN team intensified their reforestation efforts and community partnerships to restore shared habitats. In recognition of his leadership, he received the Kingsbury Browne Conservation Leadership Award in 2021, an honor bestowed by the Land Trust Alliance to individuals who have made significant contributions to conservation.

Additionally, he served on the Board of Directors of the Land Trust Alliance, contributing to its Government Relations and Strategic Communications committees. From 2013 to 2017, he was a member of the University of Puerto Rico Board of Trustees, where he also served as Vice President.
