Miriam Elena Monterroso is a Lawyer and Notary, and for the past 35 years she has served as Executive Director of the Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Association (ARCAS) in Guatemala. Under her leadership, ARCAS has consolidated pioneering programs in the rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife, environmental education, and biodiversity conservation.
With a career spanning more than three decades, she has actively participated in national, regional, and international initiatives, promoting the protection of endangered species and fostering sustainable development models that integrate local communities into the management of natural resources.
Her work has helped position ARCAS as a leading organization in wildlife conservation in Central America.
