Session Description

Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are central to tackling climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainable development. With the support of the German Government through BMUKN, IUCN has established Regional NbS Hubs to strengthen local action, connect science and policy, and accelerate credible NbS implementation. The Asia Hub is already operational, the Europe Hub has launched this year, and preparations are underway for Africa and Latin America & Caribbean. Together, these hubs will foster collaboration with governments, civil society, the private sector, and research institutions to place NbS at the heart of strategies that build resilience, restore ecosystems, and deliver benefits for people and nature. This reception celebrates the establishment of the Regional NbS Hubs, acknowledges the leadership of partners and donors, and formally launches their next phase of work to scale up Nature-based Solutions worldwide.
