Alejandro NASSAR

A Biologist graduate from the Universidad de los Andes with an emphasis on tropical forest ecology. I am currently finishing my Master's degree in Ecological Restoration at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. I have worked with rural communities on conservation projects, especially in the Colombian Amazon region and the Orinoquía foothills (piedemonte llanero). Since 2020, I have been a volunteer with the PXC Foundation (Pacto X El Clima - Pact For The Climate), and since June 2022, I have served as its Legal Representative and Executive Director. At Pacto X El Clima, we focus on empowering youth for climate action in Colombia and the region through art and culture, the social construction of knowledge, and citizen participation. I am passionate about leadership, especially when it is aimed at empowering young people to take ownership of the planet's future. I firmly believe in the power young people have to transform and inspire those around us, to create habits in people that promote sustainability, and to foster collaboration in interdisciplinary teams that provide solutions to the climate crisis.
