Hong DOU

Biography

Deputy Secretary-General of the Yunnan Green Environment Development Foundation, and a Ph.D. in Zoology from Yunnan University. With a background in conservation biology, I have long been involved in social work, whether as a student, researcher, project manager, or institutional administrator. I respect the vision and principles of institutional development, value individual strengths and strengths, and firmly believe that organizational development requires the collective wisdom and unity of all members. My professional studies and training in forest protection, wildlife conservation, molecular biology, and ecology have equipped me with a comprehensive knowledge base in conservation biology, ranging from micro to macro levels. During my academic years, I participated in, hosted, organized, and attended various domestic and international learning and training sessions, as well as reception and exchange seminars at different levels, organized by various departments, ministries, and foundations. These experiences enriched my understanding of conservation actions that integrate natural sciences with social and humanities. I have co-authored, edited, and created dozens of books and articles related to these topics. Over the years of working in different levels and fields, I have been able to communicate and collaborate effectively with groups from various perspectives and levels. In my current role, I embrace the concept of lifelong learning, strive to build a growth-oriented institution, embrace challenges without fear of change, and work collaboratively with more practitioners of ecological civilization. On one hand, I actively promote the institution's continuous exploration and practice in the forefront of ecological civilization construction, combining strategies for climate change response, biodiversity conservation, and rural revitalization. On the other hand, I actively respond to the "Belt and Road" initiative, leverage the institution's geographical advantages in bilateral and multilateral exchanges and cooperation, participate in more "going global" initiatives, and advance the internationalization process of the institution.
