Session Description

Sharks and rays, collectively known as elasmobranchs, are ecologically vital marine species that play a key role in maintaining the balance of ocean ecosystems. This session will share new insights from ongoing research in the region, highlighting species identification through molecular and morphological techniques and revealing patterns in distribution, seasonality, and movement ecology. The discussion will emphasize the ecological significance of sharks and rays while presenting collaborative conservation strategies.
