Eva RAMOS PEREZ-TORREBLANCA

Biography

Eva Ramos Perez-Torreblanca is the director of Environmental Policy Analysis and Economics at the Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi, the largest environmental regulator in the Middle East.

She leads policy analysis to design and influence public policies aimed at decoupling economic growth from environmental impact and advance the net zero transition. Her work focuses on strategic initiatives under the Abu Dhabi Climate Change Strategy including the development of an environmental innovation and investment ecosystem to accelerate economic diversification towards low-carbon sectors; the feasibility studies for an emission trading system and an environment fund, the economic valuation of Abu Dhabi’s ecosystems to integrate natural capital into policy and investment decisions, and the identification and assessment of climate-finance policy instruments.

With over 20 years of experience in public policy, corporate sustainability, and sustainable development, Eva has previously worked with the Inter-American Development Bank and Abengoa in Latin America, the European Union in Asia, and ECODES and the Avina Foundation in Europe.

She holds an MSc in Business Administration and Economics from the Universidad de Alicante, Spain, and an MPhil in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Sussex, UK, where she was a Chevening Scholar.
