Particular qualifications:

I am well-qualified to serve as an IUCN Regional Councillor. I have had extensive experience and active involvement in conservation since 2002. With my leadership roles, committee and board experiences, involvement in IUCN Commissions and international collaboration, I have an extensive network in the global conservation community and a strong commitment to advancing the mission of IUCN. As Secretary of the IUCN Global Group for National and Regional Committee Development I am an active member contributing to the strategic planning and coordination of the group’s initiatives. As Co-Secretary for the IUCN Interregional Committee for Europe North and Central Asia (ICENCA) I have facilitated cross-regional collaboration and knowledge sharing highlighting my ability to work effectively in international settings. As Chair of the National Committee of Denmark I have successfully led numerous conservation projects and fostered collaboration among IUCN members. This work has also improved Denmark's reporting and initiated international conservation commitments. As a member of the editorial board for the IUCN Member magazine, "Unite for Nature," I help disseminate important conservation information and success stories globally, ensuring that the magazine is a valuable resource for IUCN Members as well as the broader community of stakeholders. My career reflects my deep commitment to nature conservation, to fostering collaboration and to advancing the mission of the IUCN.

Experience in fields of concern to IUCN:

In my daily work as Conservation Director, I work with threatened species and protected area management nationally, regionally and internationally. I have facilitated cross-regional cooperation and knowledge sharing, enhancing global conservation efforts. My conservation journey began with a focus on species and habitats, but with over 25 years of experience, I have found that effective conservation is deeply rooted in people and collaboration. My work with IUCN reflects this understanding as I am actively engaged in initiatives aimed at strengthening the Union and building the relationships that are essential for our community to thrive. I have shown how fostering collaboration among IUCN members provides opportunities to connect, feel part of the Union, and develop joint solutions to conservation challenges. I am dedicated to making the IUCN a stronger, more united organisation, capable of addressing global conservation challenges through collective action.
