Session Description

This hands-on session will introduce two tools to assess the value and sustainability of the use of wild species. Developed in partnership with IUCN SULi, the Five-Dimensional Sustainability Assessment and the Species Use Database both provide unique aspects for assessing and recording sustainable use: Five Dimensional Sustainability Assessment - Provides a framework to assess species use based on five principles: Ecological, Social, Economic, Animal Welfare and Human Health. The Species Use Database (SpUD) - Allows users to input records of sustainable use, and search and download records for different species, for analysis and evaluation.
