Session Description

Dive into the future of ocean governance! This interactive session will unpack the significance of the newly adopted High Seas biodiversity treaty (BBNJ) and what it means for biodiversity conservation. IUCN’s previous guides such as those on the Nagoya Protocol, the Cartagena Protocol and the Convention on Biological Diversity have become essential references for diplomats, negotiators, policymakers, and practitioners around the world. With this upcoming one, we aim once again for global impact, showcasing IUCN unique strength in bringing together the efforts and work of its Secretariat, the Commissions, and Members.
