Session Description
This session will foster collaboration, peer learning, and dialogue among stakeholders in nature finance. It will: - highlight global leadership through initiatives like the Biodiversity Credit Alliance (BCA), International Advisory Panel on Biodiversity Credits (IAPB), and International Environmental Guardianship (IEG), emphasizing High-Level Principles that promote transparency, integrity, inclusivity, and equity; - explore how biodiversity credits are being designed to finance ecosystem restoration and conservation; and assess their potential to contribute to global biodiversity targets; - center rights and equity in market design, recognizing the leadership of Indigenous Peoples, Local Communities, and Afro-descendants; and - examine roles across sectors from private sector accountability to enabling government policies and de-risking mechanisms to catalyze investment and demand. A high-level panel and expert discussions with UNDP, IAPB, IEG, governments, IUCN, CI, WWF, private sector and others will offer insights into current efforts and outline pathways to co-create high-integrity nature markets for inclusive conservation and restoration outcomes.Organised by
