Why attend

Amphibians face an extinction crisis, yet gaps remain between scientific knowledge and conservation action. Scientific data is crucial, but how do we turn it into real conservation impact? Through hands-on exercises and expert insights, attendees will develop actionable strategies, strengthening their ability to bridge science and conservation for amphibian survival.

Session Description

Amphibians are experiencing an extinction crisis, yet scientific data often fails to translate into effective conservation action. This deep-dive session will provide participants with practical tools and strategies to bridge this gap. Experts from the IUCN SSC Amphibian Specialist Group, Synchronicity Earth, the IUCN SSC Amphibian Red List Authority, the Amphibian Survival Alliance, Amphibian Ark, and the IUCN SSC Conservation Planning Specialist Group will guide attendees through real-world case studies and hands-on problem-solving exercises. Participants will work in small groups to develop conservation strategies based on actual data, tackling challenges such as habitat loss, climate change, and disease. A panel discussion will explore barriers to implementation, from policy engagement to funding access. This interactive session ensures attendees leave with concrete skills, new collaborations, and actionable insights to strengthen amphibian conservation efforts in their own regions. Join us to transform knowledge into impact and drive real change for amphibians.
