Session Description
Africa is at the forefront of a bold, people-centered conservation movement—where nature, development, and community well-being go hand in hand. This high-level panel, Africa: Shaping a New Conservation Era for People and Planet, will spotlight African leadership in redefining conservation to meet today’s climate, biodiversity, and development challenges. Grounded in the vision of Agenda 2063, the session will explore how indigenous knowledge, youth-led innovation, and green economies are driving a shift from protection to regeneration and resilience. As Africa prepares to become home to the world’s largest youth population by 2050, now is the time to forge a new social compact—one that places people at the heart of environmental action. Bringing together Heads of State, grassroots leaders, and innovators, the dialogue will present transformative, scalable solutions rooted in equity, collaboration, and accountability. This is more than Africa’s future—it is a call to shape a thriving, inclusive future for the planet.Organised by
