Marc FOGGIN

Biography
Marc Foggin is a conservation biologist specialised in mountain environments of China and Central Asia, with a focus on complex human dimensions of environmental management and community development. His research has revolved mainly around the fields natural resource management, protected areas and co-management, nomadic pastoralism, and horizontal policy analysis. He also has served as consultant to WWF, UNDP, and other international organisations. He presently serves as a member or coordinator of several research consortia focused on the environmental and social dimensions of China’s Belt & Road Initiative; as honorary member of the Indigenous and Community Conserved Areas (ICCA) Consortium, with focus on Central Asia; and as the director of the NGO Plateau Perspectives.
