Session Description

This session will highlight the critical importance of establishing a Union for Arab Protected Areas to foster regional collaboration, knowledge exchange, and coordinated action in biodiversity conservation. The union aims to enhance the effectiveness and connectivity of protected areas across the Arab region, creating a unified platform to support member countries in meeting their commitments to the Global Biodiversity Framework—particularly the ambitious "30 by 30" target of conserving 30% of terrestrial and marine areas by 2030.
