Why attend

Join us to explore how tailored tools help translate the IUCN Global Standard for NbS from global vision to local action, enabling effective design, evaluation, and scaling of impactful solutions across diverse contexts.

Session Description

This session will present the experience of the IUCN French Committee in developing and using a support tool tailored to the French context for the design and evaluation of Nature-based Solutions (NbS). The tool builds on the IUCN Global Standard for NbS, providing detailed descriptions, guiding questions, and real-world examples to help stakeholders apply the Standard more effectively. The session will also place this initiative in a wider context, highlighting complementary efforts at international and regional levels, such as the Asian Hub’s NbS Project Operation Manual and the launch of the African NbS Hub. By comparing methodologies, lessons learned, and approaches to stakeholder engagement, the discussion will explore opportunities for scaling up tailored NbS tools and creating customized solutions for specific actors and ecosystems.
