This short film and discussion highlights conservation efforts in Inhambane Bay where the local community of fishers is designing a network of community led MPAs to restore fishing and protect mangroves and sea grass habitats.

Session Description

As the world edges closer to ecological and food system collapse, this session explores a locally effort to rebuild and regenerate fishing in Inhambane Bay, Mozambique by creating a local network of protected areas. The film highlights diverse voices in the community about their participation in this effort led by Ocean Revolution Mozambique, a local NGO. Marine Conservation Institute is supporting locally-led Blue Sparks around the world to protect coastal habitats and achieve meaningful conservation.
