Dr. Pacifique Mukumba Isumbisho is a socio-environmentalist who has been working for over 30 years on issues relating to indigenous communities in the sustainable management of natural resources in the context of conflict. Aside from this, he not only directs CAMV, an indigenous Organization based in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), but for the past 13 years, he has also coordinated activities relating to the reconciliation of indigenous rights and biodiversity conservation through the Whakatane mechanism in the Kahuzi-Biega National Park. Pacifique has 12 years of experience in securing and zoning land within and outside of Itombwe nature reserve and Okapi Wildlife Reserve in Eastern DRC. Beyond all, Pacifique is a researcher on issues relating to indigenous peoples, and is the author of several publication.
