Session Description

This 90-minute session will showcase the Global Ecosystems Atlas, a groundbreaking innovation layer for nature action. Hosted at the IUCN Programme Pavilion, it will bring together conservation leaders, scientists, governments and technology partners to demonstrate how the Atlas is revolutionising ecosystem mapping, risk assessment and planning for restoration and sustainable use. Through immersive storytelling and live demonstrations, the session will highlight how countries will be able to use the Atlas to turn global standards such as the IUCN Global Ecosystem Typology and Red List of Ecosystems into actionable national tools. The event will also spotlight the role of cutting-edge AI and GIS technologies in democratising ecosystem intelligence, making it accessible and usable worldwide. Concluding with a call to action, the session invites participants to join a growing movement of shared stewardship, pledging support for the Atlas mission to protect and restore Earth’s ecosystems.
