Biography
          
                      Obaid Alshamsi is Head of the Marine Biodiversity Section at the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. He specializes in ecology and environmental biology, with a focus on biodiversity conservation, marine ecosystems, and international environmental cooperation. Since joining the Ministry in 2014, he has led national and international initiatives on biodiversity, represented the UAE in multilateral agreements such as CBD, CMS, CITES, and Ramsar, and contributed to global efforts on ecosystem services, natural capital, and species conservation.
