Biography

Refined English version:
I am a Research Professor at INGENIO (CSIC-UPV), Spanish National Research Council and Unearthodox consultant. With a background spanning unorthodox economics, ecology, and conservation, my work explores how regenerative practices and environmental stewardship emerge across scales and contexts. I see research as a collective experiment—working with communities, policymakers, NGOs, and international networks to learn and unlearn together, exchange perspectives, and co-create practices that sustain social-ecological systems and reimagine human–nature relations. Recent collaborations with United Nations-ECLAC, WWF International, the Luc Hoffmann Institute, Unearthodox, and National Geographic Pristine Seas have focused on regenerative economies, tourism, and conservation innovation. Since 2022, I have also been a member of the IUCN Commission on Environmental, Economic and Social Policy (CEESP). I recently co-authored the Scaling Conservation Innovation report, available here:  https://unearthodox.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Unearthodox-ScalingConservationInnovation-v3-final.pdf. A follow-up report on Scaling Deep can be found here: https://unearthodox.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Unearthodox-Nurturing-Innovation-PGI-report-final.pdf
