Refined English version:
I am an unorthodox economist working at the nexus of innovation, wildlife conservation, and sustainability, with a particular focus on the Global South. I am a Research Professor at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), where I explore pathways for just and sustainable system transformations. With over thirty years of experience in research, capacity building, and consulting for international organisations, I focus on developing and scaling solutions that bridge local innovations with broader systemic change. My recent work has centered on tourism, artisanal fishing, and coastal ecosystems in Central America. Since 2022, I have been a member of the IUCN Commission on Environmental, Economic, and Social Policy (CEESP). I recently co-authored the Scaling Conservation Innovation report, available here: https://unearthodox.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Unearthodox-ScalingConservationInnovation-v3-final.pdf
