Nicolas Laurent is an agronomist engineer specialized in ecology and public policies, and holds a master’s degree in public policy and sustainable development.
He began his career in the French civil service in 2021 at the National Forestry Office, where he was responsible for managing the Fontainebleau forest massif. His missions covered a wide range of areas, including timber production, public access, biodiversity conservation, and climate change adaptation.
In 2024, he joined the Ministry for Ecological Transition, within the Water and Biodiversity Directorate, where he is responsible for biodiversity coordination at the European and international levels. He contributes to the development of French technical positions in various negotiation fora, while actively promoting nature-based solutions.
