As a Senior Programme Officer, Catherine provides policy advice to IUCN Kenya, focusing on (i) aligning climate and biodiversity management and economic development and private sector investments; (ii) mainstreaming climate adaptation and biodiversity conservation into national development strategies; and (iii) promoting IUCN’s work in Kenya in relation with climate change and biodiversity. She is also the focal point for the BIODEV2030 initiative. BIODEV2030 seeks to spur engagement between actors to secure ambitious science-based commitments to deliver change through voluntary contributions. Catherine is also leading the implementation of initiatives on advancing sustainable finance principles in the private sector.
Catherine is an alumni of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with a Msc. in Environmental Governance from Freiburg University in Germany. She also has a background in Environmental Journalism and Communication.
