Nessrine ALZAHLAWI

Biography

Nessrine Alzahlawi is an aquatic ecologist and environmental policy professional , currently leading the set up and implementation of the Abu Dhabi Mangrove Initiative within the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi. She has over 17 years of experience in the field of nature conservation and restoration, in the UAE and internationally, having previously worked at the Secretariat of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands and at the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health.  She holds an MSc in Aquatic Biology and Resources Management from the University of Exeter. She is passionate about science-based environmental action and communicating the value of nature and ecosystems while involving the wider community in biodiversity conservation.
