Liliana JAUREGUI

Biography

As Director of IUCN NL (the Dutch Committee of IUCN), I bring more than 30 years of experience working at the intersection of environmental justice and human rights. Based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and originally from the Atacama Desert in Chile, I hold a degree in organizational management and a master’s in economic development with a specialization in natural resources. Much of my career has focused on connecting local realities with international policy arenas, helping to untangle the complex dynamics of territories and the drivers of environmental degradation and human rights conflicts. I am also actively engaged in the European agenda—particularly in the Netherlands—where I lead efforts to strengthen coordination and collaboration within the Dutch Committee and across international networks.
