Master of Biology with more than 25 years of experience in the formulation, follow-up and management of conservation and sustainable development programs and projects, especially integrated water resources management -IWRM- (local, national, and transboundary), biodiversity, wetlands and coastal zones, and application of the ecosystem approach in Central America and South American countries. Implementation at local, national and transboundary level, of projects on good water governance, principles of international law and ecosystem and community-based adaptation. Leadership, teamwork, and people management skills (including multidisciplinary professionals). Coordination of sustainable development projects in Costa Rica’s conservation areas and basins in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. Throughout my career I have coordinated and negotiated with government and nongovernmental organizations, cooperation agencies and academic institutions at national, regional, and international level. Since 2016 I have been working as an independent professional on issues related to my experience. During these years, I have been working on various projects in the Central American region on water governance and coastal areas, nature-based solutions and ecosystem-based adaptation where practical measures have been incorporated at the field level (sustainable livelihoods, promotion of climate change resilient crops, capacity building of communities, climate change adaptation governance, among others).
