Andre MADER

Environmental management and policy professional with over two decades of international experience across research, programme management, and science-policy interfaces. Currently Principal Policy Researcher at the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Japan, and formerly Science Officer for IPBES, Programme Officer at the CBD Secretariat, and Senior Professional Officer at ICLEI. Work has included coordinating expert groups, supporting intergovernmental processes, and producing more than 100 publications. Education includes an MSc in Conservation Biology (University of Cape Town) and a certificate in Public Policy Economics (University of Oxford). Additional experience includes journal editorial work, training, and podcast hosting on conservation and sustainability topics. Background includes applied conservation work in South Africa and the UAE.
