Biography
I am a biologist and consulting specialist for nature conservation initiatives, with special interest in ecosystem management and vast experience working for international organizations in managing teams and panels of experts, structuring project management systems, supporting research and producing knowledge, and coordinating publications and communications efforts. I am currently studying for a Professional Doctorate in Biodiversity Conservation and Protected Areas Management at the National School of Tropical Botany (ENBT/JBRJ). I served as a Senior Project Associate at Climate Policy Initiative for over a year, where I was coordinating research projects applied for improving environmental public policies. Before joining CPI, I worked for IUCN, International Union for Conservation of Nature, for five years supporting the implementation of the global program in Brazil, managing projects and supporting multistakeholder partnerships to promote nature based solutions for sustainability. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Brasilia (Brazil) and the University of Queensland (Australia) and also a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development and Biodiversity Conservation from the Ecological Research Institute (ESCAS/IPÊ). I have also worked in research and environmental education initiatives for marine biodiversity conservation and am currently the Brazil focal point of the IUCN specialist Commission on Ecosystem Management.
