Alexandra ALVES

Biography

Dr. Alexandra Alves is a marine biologist and research scientist specializing in aquaculture, comparative endocrinology, and physiology. With over ten years of experience in animal research and laboratory science, she currently works at Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue in Abu Dhabi, where she helped establish the region’s first plankton bank and developed local cuttlefish culture.
She holds a Ph.D. in Marine Resources (University of Cádiz) and an M.Sc. in Marine Biology (University of Algarve). Widely published and recognized internationally, including awards for her scientific presentations, Alexandra is also dedicated to mentoring students and engaging in science outreach.
