Simba MANDOTA

Biography
Simba currently holds the position of Team Leader for the IKI funded CBA SCALE southern Africa+ project, where he has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of the unique climate change impacts and challenges faced by communities in the drylands of southern Africa. In this role and past roles, he has successfully overseen the implementation of various initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods, promoting ecosystem restoration, and enhancing community resilience. Simba's academic qualifications further enhance his expertise in the development sector. He holds a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in strategic leadership. This educational background has equipped him with the necessary skills to navigate complex challenges and develop innovative strategies to address the unique needs of communities in drylands ecosystems. In addition to his role as Team Leader, Simba also serves as the IUCN Country Representative for Zimbabwe. In this capacity, he represents the organization at a national and regional level and plays a crucial role in fostering partnerships with government agencies, funding agencies, non-profit organizations, policy makers, and other stakeholders. Simba's ability to build strong relationships and effectively communicate IUCN’s objectives has been instrumental in achieving positive outcomes for the communities he serves and Zimbabwe as a whole. His ability to lead diverse teams, navigate complex landscapes, and foster collaboration has earned him the respect and admiration of his peers and colleagues. Simba, is a highly accomplished professional with an extensive background in the development sector, specifically focused on supporting livelihoods, ecosystem restoration, and community resilience in mostly drylands in southern Africa. With over 23 years of experience in this field, Simba has made significant contributions to the sustainable development of communities and management of ecosystems in the SADC region. His work has had a tangible impact on the lives of countless individuals, as he has successfully implemented projects that have improved livelihoods, restored ecosystems, and built community resilience.
