Joseph Holway

Biography

Dr. Joseph Holway is Assistant Director at the Springs Stewardship Institute (SSI), where he leads efforts to advance the scientific understanding and global stewardship of spring ecosystems. He earned his PhD in Environmental Life Sciences from Arizona State University in 2024 and was a 2021 Fulbright Research Scholar in Cambodia, studying the nexus of hydrologic variability, biodiversity, and food security in the Lower Mekong Basin. Born and raised in the Southwest U.S., he combines a passion for springs with expertise in springs ecology, field research, data analysis, and community engagement.
