Anabella PALACIOS

Biography

Anabella is a Senior Programme Manager at IUCN, based in Washington DC, with over a decade of experience managing transformative climate initiatives, with a particular focus on addressing the challenge of plastics pollution and moving towards a circular economy. She has extensive experience driving collaboration between public and private sector actors.

Before joining IUCN, she worked at the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) where she managed a climate fund supporting the implementation of NDCs, blue and circular economy, sustainable waste management, and nature-based solutions in Latin America and the Caribbean. She also designed and supported implementation of projects financed by the CIF, GCF, and the GEF. Prior to IDB, she worked at The World Bank and The Nature Conservancy.

At The World Bank, Anabella co-authored a flagship publication "Blue Skyes, Blue Seas," focused on addressing plastic pollution challenges in the Mediterranean.

In 2018 she participated in the world's largest female expedition to Antarctica. 

Anabella has a master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a bachelor’s degree from the Catholic University of Córdoba, Argentina.
