Bello DANMALLAM

Biography

Bello is an ecologist and conservation biologist with expertise in data management and species conservation. As Species Survival Coordinator for the IUCN SSC Centre for Species Survival Nigeria, based at the A.P. Leventis Ornithological Research Institute (APLORI), he leads conservation initiatives and supports capacity building across West Africa. His research combines expert-derived and citizen science data to investigate species distributions inside and outside protected areas, assess urban biodiversity, and identify priority sites and species for protection. He applies IUCN tools and methodologies through the Assess–Plan–Act–Network–Communicate Cycle to drive evidence-based conservation outcomes across the region.
