Why attend

Learn more about the current state of private philanthropy in the United States in the face of the downturn of US government funding for global conservation work. There will be a panel of representatives from foundations and individual giving to discuss funding trends and expectations for the coming years.

Session Description

This event, hosted by IUCN US Fund, the United States non-profit organization that supports IUCN, will bring together a community of US-based foundations and philanthropists to talk about trends in US funding provided for global conservation work, and the opportunities and constraints that organizations can anticipate in coming years when seeking funding for their work. Objectives of the session include: o Learning about the current realities and anticipated future realities of the various sectors funding global conservation work; o Listening to perspectives from across the conservation donor community based in the US regarding how their organizations and individual giving have and are responding to the 2025 US government administration; o Listening to perspectives about what kinds of changes grantees might expect in the conservation funding landscape, and how to best position themselves to be successful in securing that funding.
