Why attend

Join youth leaders, policymakers, and financiers to unlock practical pathways for funding child- and youth-led environmental action. Gain concrete insights on financing models, MEA alignment, and collaboration opportunities to scale impact across climate, biodiversity, land, and chemicals and waste agenda

Session Description

This session convenes young leaders, the GEF, MEA focal points, UN agencies, and financing partners to advance financing for child- and youth-led implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements (UNFCCC, CBD, UNCCD, BRS, Minamata). Anchored in GEF-9’s whole-of-society approach, the dialogue will highlight success stories, identify gaps, and map actionable solutions to expand sustainable finance access. Participants will explore grants, blended finance, community funds, and public–private partnerships; identify synergies between MEAs and child- and youth-driven approaches; and surface concrete actions to improve access to funding aligned with MEAs and SDG environmental targets. Outcomes will inform an advocacy brief for HLPF, UNEA, and MEA COPs, strengthening intergenerational partnerships in environmental governance.
