Magda Zachara is an educator and advocate for nature conservation with a strong scientific background. She holds a Master’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Geneva and a PhD in Molecular Life Sciences from EPFL Lausanne. After a successful academic career in teaching and mentoring, she shifted her focus to environmental sustainability. In her role with the IUCN Academy, Magda develops and delivers educational programmes and supports capacity building across the Union, including the Secretariat, Centres, Regional Offices, Members and Commissions, while also collaborating with partner universities worldwide. Passionate about innovative learning, she is committed to harnessing education as a catalyst for positive environmental change.
